Installation
INSTALLATION
PROCEDURE
1. INSTALL SEAT POSITION AIRBAG SENSOR
(a)
Engage the pin to install the seat position airbag sensor to the seat
slide position sensor protector as shown in the illustration.

(b) Using a 1.3 mm (0.0512 in.) feeler gauge, temporarily install the seat position airbag sensor with the "TORX" bolt.
NOTICE:
- If the seat position airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any
cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace the
seat position airbag sensor with a new one.
- When installing the seat position airbag sensor, make sure that the SRS
wiring does not interfere with or is pinched between other parts.

(c) Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, tighten the "TORX" bolt.
Torque:
8.0 N·m {82 kgf·cm, 71 in·lbf}
(d) Make sure that the clearance between the seat position airbag sensor and seat rail is 1.3 mm (0.0512 in.).
(e) Connect the connector and engage the clamp.
(f) Check that there is no looseness in the installed parts of the seat position airbag sensor.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
CAUTION:
Be sure to correctly follow the removal and installation procedures for the seat position airbag sensor.
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT SEAT POSITION AIRBAG SENSOR (for Vehicle not Involved in Collision)
(a) Perform a diagnostic system check.

2. INSPECT SEAT POSITION AIRBAG SENSOR (for Vehicle Involved in Collision)
(a) Perform a diagnostic system check.

(b) Visually check for defects with the seat position airbag sensor removed from the vehicle.
HINT:
The defects are as follows:
- Cracks in the sensor housing
- Dents in the sensor housing
- Chips in the sensor housing
- Cracks or other damage to the connector
OK:
No defects are found.
If any defects are found, replace the seat position airbag sensor with a new one.

(a) Disengage the clamp and disconnect the connector. | |
(b)
Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the "TORX" bolt and seat
position airbag sensor with the seat slide position sensor protector. |

(c)
Disengage the pin to remove the seat position airbag sensor from the
seat slide position sensor protector as shown in the illustration.
