PROCEDURE

1. REMOVE REAR SEAT SHOULDER BELT GUIDE LH (for LH Side)

(a) Remove the 2 screws.

(b) Disengage the guide to remove the rear seat shoulder belt guide LH.

2. REMOVE REAR SIDE SEATBACK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for LH Side)

(a) Remove the 2 nuts.

(b) Disengage the 14 hooks.

(c) Remove the rear side seatback cover sub-assembly LH from the rear side seatback frame sub-assembly LH as shown in the illustration.

3. REMOVE REAR SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH (for LH Side)

7. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK UPPER LOCK BEZEL (for LH Side)

(a) Disengage the 4 claws to remove the rear seatback upper lock bezel.

8. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE REAR SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD (for LH Side)

(a) Open the 2 fasteners as shown in the illustration.

(c) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the 2 rear seat headrest supports as shown in the illustration.

(d) Remove the separate type rear seatback cover with pad from the rear seatback frame sub-assembly LH as shown in the illustration.

9. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE REAR SEATBACK COVER (for LH Side)

(a) Remove the 6 hog rings.

(b) Disengage the fastener and remove the separate type rear seatback cover from the separate type rear seatback pad.

(a) Disengage the 4 claws to remove the rear seatback upper lock bezel.

15. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE REAR SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD (for RH Side)

(a) Open the 2 fasteners as shown in the illustration.

(a) Disengage the 5 hooks.

(b) Remove the 6 hog rings.

(a) Disengage the 2 claws and 2 guides to remove the child restraint seat cover as shown in the illustration.

19. REMOVE CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT BASE COVER

(a) Remove the screw.

(b) Disengage the claw and guide to remove the child restraint seat base cover as shown in the illustration.

20. REMOVE BENCH TYPE REAR SEAT CUSHION COVER

(a) Disengage the 3 hooks.

(b) Disengage the 2 hooks.

(c) for Gasoline Model:

(1) Remove the 23 hog rings.

(2) Disengage the 4 fasteners.

(4) Disengage the 2 fasteners to remove the bench type rear seat cushion cover from the rear seat cushion pad sub-assembly.

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL REAR SIDE SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Place the rear side seatback assembly LH in the cabin.

NOTICE:

Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

(b) Engage the hook as shown in the illustration.

Install in this Direction

(c) Install the rear side seatback assembly LH with the bolt.

Torque:

18 N·m {184 kgf·cm, 13 ft·lbf}

(d) Connect the rear side seatback assembly LH connector.

(1) Before connecting the connector, check that the position of the housing lock is correct as shown in the illustration.

(e) Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

NOTICE:

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

2. INSTALL REAR SIDE SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH

HINT:

Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

3. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Place the rear seatback assembly RH in the cabin.

NOTICE:

Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

(b) Engage the 2 guides.

(c) Temporarily install the rear seatback assembly RH with the 2 bolts.

(d) Fully tighten the bolt (A), and then the bolt (B) to install the rear seatback assembly RH.

Torque:

36.8 N·m {375 kgf·cm, 27 ft·lbf}

(e) w/ Seat Heater System:

(1) Engage the clamp.

(f) Return the rear seatback assembly RH to its original position.

4. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Place the rear seatback assembly LH in the cabin.

NOTICE:

Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

(b) Engage the 2 guides.

(c) Temporarily install the rear seatback assembly LH with the 2 bolts.

(d) Fully tighten the bolt (A), and then the bolt (B) to install the rear seatback assembly LH.

Torque:

36.8 N·m {375 kgf·cm, 27 ft·lbf}

(e) w/ Seat Heater System:

(1) Engage the clamp.

(f) Return the rear seatback assembly LH to its original position.

5. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION LOCK HOOK

(a) Engage the 2 claws to install a new rear seat cushion lock hook as shown in the illustration.

HINT:

Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

6. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY

(a) Place the rear seat cushion assembly in the cabin.

NOTICE:

Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

(1) Engage the 2 rear seat cushion frame hooks on the rear side of the rear seat cushion assembly as shown in the illustration.

(2) Engage the 2 rear seat cushion frame hooks on the front side of the rear seat cushion assembly as shown in the illustration to install the rear seat cushion assembly.

NOTICE:

Confirm that the rear seat cushion assembly is securely installed.

(c) for HV Model:

(1) Engage the 2 rear seat cushion frame hooks on the rear side of the rear seat cushion assembly as shown in the illustration.

(1) Connect the 2 connectors.

(2) Engage the 2 clamps.

(1) Connect the 2 connectors.

(2) Engage the 2 clamps.

7. CONNECT REAR CENTER SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the rear center seat outer belt assembly as shown in the illustration.

8. INSTALL REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the 2 rear seat headrest assemblies.

  • Be sure to securely install the hog rings as shown in the illustration while preventing wrinkles from forming on the bench type rear seat cushion cover.

(3) Engage the 4 fasteners.

(4) Using hog ring pliers, install 23 new hog rings in the order shown in the illustration.

  • Be careful not to damage the bench type rear seat cushion cover.

(b) for HV Model:

(1) Using hog ring pliers, install 22 new hog rings in the order shown in the illustration.

(c) Engage the 2 hooks.

(d) Engage the 3 hooks to install the bench type rear seat cushion cover to the rear seat cushion pad sub-assembly.

3. INSTALL CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT BASE COVER

(a) Engage the guide and claw as shown in the illustration.

(b) Install the child restraint seat base cover with the screw.

HINT:

Use the same procedure for all child restraint seat base covers.

(a) Install the separate type rear seatback cover with pad to the rear seatback frame sub-assembly RH as shown in the illustration.

(b) Engage the 2 claws to install the 2 rear seat headrest supports as shown in the illustration.

Install in this Direction

(c) Using hog ring pliers, install a new hog ring.

NOTICE:

  • Be careful not to damage the separate type rear seatback cover.
  • Be sure to securely install the hog rings as shown in the illustration while preventing wrinkles from forming on the separate type rear seatback cover.

(d) Engage the 4 hooks.

(e) Close the 2 fasteners as shown in the illustration.

3. REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Seat Heater System)

4. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT INNER TRIM PAD (w/ Seat Heater System)

5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

for A25A-FXS:

CAUTION:

  • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
  • If an airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious injury.

6. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 rear seat headrest assemblies.

7. DISCONNECT REAR CENTER SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, disconnect the rear center seat outer belt assembly as shown in the illustration.

8. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY

(a) w/ Seat Heater System (for LH Side):

(1) Disconnect the 2 connectors.

(2) Disengage the 2 clamps.

(b) w/ Seat Heater System (for RH Side):

(1) Disconnect the 2 connectors.

(2) Disengage the 2 clamps.

(c) for Gasoline Model:

(1) Lift the front edge of the rear seat cushion assembly as shown in the illustration and disengage the 2 rear seat cushion frame hooks on the front side of the rear seat cushion assembly from the rear seat cushion lock hooks.

NOTICE:

Be sure to hold the parts of the seat cushion assembly directly next to the rear seat cushion frame hooks when lifting it. Lifting a different part of the cushion may deform the rear seat cushion frame.

HINT:

When lifting the rear seat cushion assembly, make sure to hold the area shown in the illustration.

(2) Disengage the 2 rear seat cushion frame hooks on the rear side of the rear seat cushion assembly as shown in the illustration and remove the rear seat cushion assembly.

NOTICE:

Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

(d) for HV Model:

(1) Lift the front edge of the rear seat cushion assembly as shown in the illustration and disengage the 2 rear seat cushion frame hooks on the front side of the rear seat cushion assembly from the rear seat cushion lock hooks.

NOTICE:

Be sure to hold the parts of the seat cushion assembly directly next to the rear seat cushion frame hooks when lifting it. Lifting a different part of the cushion may deform the rear seat cushion frame.

HINT:

When lifting the rear seat cushion assembly, make sure to hold the area shown in the illustration.

(2) Disengage the 2 rear seat cushion frame hooks on the rear side of the rear seat cushion assembly as shown in the illustration and remove the rear seat cushion assembly.

NOTICE:

Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

9. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION LOCK HOOK

(a) Disengage the 2 claws to remove the rear seat cushion lock hook as shown in the illustration.

HINT:

Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

10. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Fold the rear seatback assembly LH forward.

(b) w/ Seat Heater System:

(1) Disengage the clamp.

(c) Disengage the fastener.

(d) Remove the 2 bolts.

(e) Disengage the 2 guides and remove the rear seatback assembly LH.

NOTICE:

Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

11. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Fold the rear seatback assembly RH forward.

(b) w/ Seat Heater System:

(1) Disengage the clamp.

(c) Disengage the fastener.

(d) Remove the 2 bolts.

(e) Disengage the 2 guides and remove the rear seatback assembly RH.

NOTICE:

Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

12. REMOVE REAR SIDE SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

(b) Disconnect the rear side seatback assembly LH connector.

NOTICE:

When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

(1) Push down the white housing lock and slide the yellow CPA. (At this time, the connector cannot be disconnected yet.)

(2) Push down the white housing lock again and disconnect the connector.

NOTICE:

Do not push down the part (A) shown in the illustration when disconnecting the connector.

(c) Remove the bolt.

(d) Disengage the hook and remove the rear side seatback assembly LH as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:

Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

13. REMOVE REAR SIDE SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH

HINT:

Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
