PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Check the operation of the door lock motor.

(1) Apply auxiliary battery voltage and check the operation of the door lock motor.

OK:

Auxiliary Battery Connection

Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 4

Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 1

Locks

Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 1

Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 4

Unlocks

If the result is not as specified, replace the front door lock with motor assembly LH.

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

2. INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Check the operation of the door lock motor.

(1) Apply auxiliary battery voltage and check the operation of the door lock motor.

HINT:

  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE

1. PRECAUTION

NOTICE:

After turning the engine switch (for Gasoline Model) or power switch (for HV Model) off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

2. INSTALL FRONT DOOR INSIDE LOCK/UNLOCK KNOB LOCKING CABLE

(a) Install the front door inside lock/unlock knob locking cable as shown in the illustration.

Install in this Direction

3. INSTALL FRONT DOOR LOCK OPEN LEVER REMOTE CONTROL CABLE

(a) Install the front door lock open lever remote control cable as shown in the illustration.

Install in this Direction

(b) Engage the 3 claws to close the cover as shown in the illustration.

4. INSTALL FRONT DOOR LOCK WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY

NOTICE:

  • When reusing a removed front door lock with motor assembly, replace the door lock wiring harness seal with a new one.
  • Do not allow grease or dust to adhere to the door lock wiring harness seal installation surface.
  • Reusing a door lock wiring harness seal or using a damaged door lock wiring harness seal may cause water ingress. This may result in a malfunction of the front door lock with motor assembly.

(a) Apply MP grease to the sliding parts of the front door lock with motor assembly.

(b) When reusing the front door lock with motor assembly:

(1) Install a new door lock wiring harness seal to the front door lock with motor assembly.

(c) Connect the front door lock open rod to the front door lock with motor assembly.

Install in this Direction

HINT:

Make sure that the front door lock open rod is securely connected to the front door lock with motor assembly.

(d) Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, install the front door lock with motor assembly with the 3 screws.

Torque:

5.5 N·m {56 kgf·cm, 49 in·lbf}

(e) Connect the connector.

(a) Disconnect the connector.

Front Door Lock Open Rod

Remove in this Direction

(b) Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 3 screws.

(c) Slide the front door lock with motor assembly downward to disconnect the front door lock open rod and remove the front door lock with motor assembly and cables as a unit.

(d) When reusing the front door lock with motor assembly:

(1) Remove the door lock wiring harness seal from the front door lock with motor assembly.

22. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK OPEN LEVER REMOTE CONTROL CABLE

(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 claws and open the cover as shown in the illustration.

(b) Remove the front door lock open lever remote control cable as shown in the illustration.
